ORDER

The petitioner along with four others have filed O.A.No.5 of 2015 before the Joint Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department seeking declaration of Arulmigu Karuppanasamy Temple as public temple. On the contrary, one Ayyar @ Ayyanan and his group have filed O.A.No.10 of 2016 seeking declaration of the aforesaid temple as private temple. They filed a joint memo. By citing the pendency of both O.A.Nos.5 of 2015 and 10 of 2016, the other group of Ayyar @ Ayyanan enjoying the claiming rights and restricting the petitioner from worshiping the temple and conducting festivals.

2. In view of the above, the petitioner prays that both the O.A.Nos.5 of 2015 and 10 of 2016 to be disposed of without any delay. He further submits that due to pandemic, Joint Commissioner of Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department was unable to conduct any hearings and there was also vacancy of the post for some time. Now, new officer has been appointed.

3. Considering the same, this Court directs the Joint Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department to give top priority to both O.A.Nos.5 of 2015 and 10 of 2016 and dispose of the same preferably within a period of six months from the date of receipt of copy of this order.

4. The writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
