O R D E R

This petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents 1 and 2 to provide adequate police protection to the petitioner and his family members so as to enable them to lead a peaceful life at their permanent residence at 3/845, B7, Bharathi Nagar, Paramakudi, Ramanthapuram District by considering the representation dated 20.02.2021.

2.There is no representation for the petitioner. 3.When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that on 09.07.2021 the petitioner appeared before the Enquiry Officer and gave a statement to the effect that no further action is required on his complaint https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

Crl.O.P.(MD)No.9072 of 2021 and therefore, it was closed on 18.03.2021. For the purpose of circulating the copy of the statement of the petitioner the matter has been listed today.

4.Today, the copy of the statement of the petitioner has been produced. A perusal of the same would show that the parties appeared before the Enquiry Officer on 18.03.2021 and during the course of enquiry, the petitioner submitted that the third respondent by name Arunkumar has given an undertaking that he will not make any trouble and the petitioner undertook that he will not press the complaint. Since the petitioner himself gave a statement to the effect that he will not press the complaint, no further direction is required. In the facts and circumstances of the case, providing police protection does not arise. Hence, this petition deserves dismissal and accordingly, the same is dismissed.
