O R D E R

*********** [Order of the Court was made by R.SUBBIAH, J.] The present Habeas Corpus Petition has been filed by the son of the detenu, seeking a Writ of Habeas Corpus, directing the respondents to produce the person or body of the detenu, namely, Arthanari, aged about 68 years, before this Court and set him at liberty.

2. When the Habeas Corpus Petition was taken up for consideration, on 21.12.2016, the third respondent herein filed a status report, reporting that the detenu met with a fatal accident by a unknown vehicle, in a place, coming under the jurisdiction of Samayapuram Police Station and died. petitioner sought for time to verify the above position.

3. Today, on instructions, it is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that it is true that the detenu, the father of the petitioner herein, met with an accident and died.

4. In view of the said submission made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, recording the same, the present Habeas Corpus Petition is closed.
