Respondents PRAYER : Criminal Original Petition filed under Section 482 Cr.P.C, to issue direction by directing the first respondent to appoint special investigation officer not below the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police to investigate the case as a special case in Crime No.14 of 2021 on the file of the third respondent/Nadukaveri Police Station, Thanjavur, in connection with the death of petitioner's son in the fire incident due to cruelty, domestic violence and dowry death and further direct the second respondent to personally supervise the investigation and to file final report in accordance with law.

This Criminal Original Petition has been filed for directing the first respondent to appoint a higher officer to investigate the case in Crime No.14 of 2021 registered on the file of the third respondent.

2. The petitioner is none other than the father of the deceased.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that the third respondent has already prepared final report dropping action in the matter. It is https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

Crl.O.P.(MD)No.9160 of 2021 to be filed before the Jurisdictional Court after serving the same on the petitioner herein. It is always open to the petitioner to file his protest petition before the Jurisdictional Magistrate. The learned Magistrate will take a call in the matter. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor is requested to share a copy of the final report with the learned counsel for the petitioner.

4. Leaving open all the petitioner's contentions, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
