..Respondent PRAYER: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent to restore the Mini Bus permit bearing Regn. No.TN-33-F-7324 to ply the Mini Bus on the route for example Cumbum Gandhi Silai to Surulitheertham Bus stop. O R D E R

The petitioner in this writ petition seeks for a direction to restore the mini bus permit with vehicle bearing registration No.TN-33-F7324.

2. From the typed set of papers, it is seen that the Regional Transport Authority, Theni District, by order dated 18.02.2015 has passed an order under Section 86(1)(d) of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 cancelling the mini bus permit granted to the petitioner. As against the said order, the petitioner has an effective alternative remedy of preferring an appeal before the State Transport Appellate Authority.

3. In such circumstances, the writ of Mandamus cannot be granted and accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed. However, it is open to the petitioner to file an appeal as against the order dated 18.02.2015 before the State Transport Appellate Authority, if so advised. No costs.
