O R D E R

This petition is filed seeking a direction to the the first respondent to give suitable direction to the respondents 5 to 8 not to harass the petitioner on the basis of the representation dated 05.07.2021.

2. The case of the petitioner is that he is doing stitching unit business in Karur area and the respondents 5 to 8 are continuously calling the petitioner for enquiry stating that he is indulging in selling the prohibited lottery. Even though sufficient explanation was given, it was not taken into account. 3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor submitted that based upon the complaint given by one Nagarajan before the Sub Inspector of Police, Vengamedu, a case in Crime No.401 of 2021 has been registered against the petitioner on 05.07.2021 for the offences punishable under Section 420 IPC and Section 7(3) of Lotteries Regulation Act, 1998.

4. Since the case has been registered against the petitioner, he has to face investigation and trial as per law. He can work out remedy by appropriate proceedings before the appropriate forum. The question of harassment does not arise in this case.

5. With the above observation, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
