[Order of the Court by T.S.SIVAGNANAM, J.] Heard Mr.K.Vamanan, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.T.Mohan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents.

2. The petitioner has filed this habeas corpus petition to direct the respondent Police to trace her daughter, namely, Thamilarasi, aged about 19 years, who is missing from 06.10.2016, produce her before this Court and set her at liberty. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/

3. It appears that the detenue was studying Third Year Tamil Literature in South Travancore Hindu College at Nagercoil.

4. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has produced a statement of the petitioner recorded by the second respondent Police while investigating the case in Crime No.244 of 2016.

5. A perusal of the said statement would show that it is nothing but a verbatim repetition of the complaint lodged by the petitioner. Further, on perusal of the records produced before this Court, we are convinced that the investigation is proceeding in the right direction. Therefore, while closing this habeas corpus petition, the petitioner is directed to appear before the second respondent Police and give further details about the detenue, her friends and the probable place to where she might have left etc., and on furnishing such details, the second respondent is directed to expedite the investigation and complete the same as early as possible.

6. The habeas corpus petition is closed with the above directions.
