Heard Mr.S.Ramsundarvijayraj, learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and Mr.S.Shanmugavel, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

2. The petitioner has filed this petition seeking to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to consider the representation of the petitioner dated 01.11.2023 for Medical Reimbursement.

3. The petitioner has been working as Commandant / Superintendent of Police in TSP XIV Battalion, Palani, Dindigul District. He has incurred medical expenses to a sum of Rs.9,77,577/- towards the medical treatment availed by his wife at Dr.Rela Institute and Medical Centre Hospital, Chennai. He is covered under New Health Insurance Scheme (2021) and hence, his wife is entitled to get that benefit as his dependent. However, the Insurance Company has sanctioned only a sum of Rs.2,21,832/- and the rest of the amount has not been sanctioned to him.

4. The petitioner has not chosen to approach the District Level Empowered Committee and approached this Court by way of filing this writ petition. If the petitioner is not satisfied with the sanctioned amount, it is always open to him to approach the District Level Empowered Committee.

5. In view of the above observations, the writ petition is closed with a liberty to the petitioner to approach the District Level Empowered Committee. No Costs.
