PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, calling for the records in pursuant to the proceedings of the second respondent in Detention Order in P.D.No.66/2021, dated 24.06.2021, quash the same and consequently direct the respondents to produce the detenu, namely Selvam, S/o.Sukkuru, aged 30 years who is now detained in Central Prison, Trichy, before this Court and set him at liberty. [Order of the Court was made by V.BHARATHIDASAN, J.] This Habeas Corpus Petition is filed challenging the order of detention passed in P.D.No.66/2021, dated 24.06.2021, by the second respondent.
2.When the matter is taken up for hearing today, Mr.S.Ravi, learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the State, on instructions submitted that the Government itself has revoked the order of detention, by the order in G.O.Rt.No.3432, Home, Prohibition & Excise (XV) Department, dated 03.08.2021. H.C.P.(MD) No.971 of 2021 produced the copy of the said Government Order.
3. In view of the above, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed as no further order is necessary.
