This Writ Petition has been filed, seeking issuance of Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to grant permission to hold the fasting (Unna Viratham) on 28.05.2015 at about 10.00 am to 04.00 p.m before the Taluk Office, Karur and consequently direct the respondents to consider the petitioners representation dated 23.05.2015.

2. Heard both sides.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that without authority, Kumbabishekagam is sought to be made to Sri Arulmigu Mahalakshmi Amman Temple. Accordingly, the petitioner gave a representation to the authorities on 16.05.2015. Thereafter, he gave a representation to the second respondent, seeking permission to undertake fasting on 28.05.2015.

Admittedly, the said period is over, the learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that the proposed function by the third parties was on 05.06.2015,06.06.2015 and 07.06.2015, if that is the case, it is very well open to the petitioner to approach the second respondent, seeking permission. As and when the petitioner makes request, the second respondent shall consider the said request, on the very same day.
