This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a writ of mandamus, directing the second respondent to conduct an inquiry with regard to the cancellation of Joint Patta No.1223 in Survey No.508/36B, Chokkalingapuram Village, Melur Taluk, Madurai District, measuring 002.370 hectares, and to expedite the inquiry in Oo.Mu.No.103/2024/A1 dated 19.01.2024 within a reasonable time.

2. Heard the learned counsel for the parties. Having regard to the nature of the order proposed to be passed, the notice of the newly impleaded respondents is dispensed with.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent submitted that the second respondent would conduct and conclude the inquiry after putting respondents 4 to 7 and all other necessary parties, on notice and would pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, within the time frame stipulated by this Court.

4. In view of the above submissions, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to conduct and conclude the inquiry on merits and in accordance with law after providing an opportunity to the petitioner, all the necessary parties including the respondents 4 to 7 and pass appropriate orders within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
