ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by M.SATHYANARAYANAN,J.) The petitioner is the mother of the detenu, namely, S.Pitchaimani, son of Selvam, aged about 26 years and according to her, the detenu is eking out his livelihood by doing coolie work and he did not return home on 27.12.2019 onwards. The complaint given in this regard on 01.01.2020, on the file of the third respondent Police Station has resulted in registration of a case in Cr.No.68 of 2020 on 03.02.2020 as 'Man Missing'. Though nearly seven months had elapsed, nothing has been done to trace her son and fearing about his safety and well-being, the petitioner came forward to file this Habeas Corpus Petition. `

2. Heard the submissions of the learned Counsel for the petitioner and Mr.K.Dinesh Babu, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, who accepts notice on behalf of the respondents. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

3. This Court, taking into consideration the facts and circumstances of the case, directs the third respondent to bestow their best attention and expedite the investigation in Cr.No.68 of 2020 and also periodically inform the petitioner as to the progress made in the investigation. In the event of the detenu being traced, he shall be produced before the Court of Judicial Magistrate, Melur, Madurai District, after informing the petitioner, for passing appropriate orders as to his custody.

4. This Habeas Corpus Petition stands disposed of accordingly.
