This Writ Petition has been filed directing the respondent to rectify the birth certificate of the petitioner in C.A 1508/94, dated 30.05.1994 and change the name thereof as P.Sridhar based on the Gazette publication of Government of Tamil Nadu, dated 08.04.2008, by considering petitioner's mother Paripooranams application, dated 18.09.2022.

2.Heard the learned counsel appearing for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondent.

3. It is the case of the petitioner that in the birth certificate of the petitioner his name was mentioned as Nirmal. However, in the School Certificate, it is mentioned as Srimal Kumar Singh. After became major, the petitioner has realised the mistake, he changed his name as P.Sridhar and in this regard he gave a Gazette notification on 08.04.2008. Now, the petitioner is a Green Card holder in United States of America. Despite the production of Gazette notification by the Government, the authorities had insisted that the correct name should be included in the birth certificate. In this regard, the petitioner's mother had given a representation on 18.09.2022 and the same is not considered by the respondent. 2/4

4.As the Government Gazette notification is also in favour of the petitioner and the name is referred as P.Sridhar, it is for the respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner's mother and pass necessary orders within a period of one month, from the date of receipt of copy of this order. 5.With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
