ORDER

The petitioner is the lessor of the premises, which has been leased out to the third respondent. The petitioner claims that the third respondent has not paid rent since 2024 in terms of the lease deed and, therefore, submitted a representation calling upon the third respondent to pay the arrears of rent.

2. Learned Standing Counsel for the respondents submitted that the petitioner's representation will be considered in accordance with law within the time frame to be stipulated by this Court.

3. The said submission is taken on record. The third respondent, being a nationalised bank, is "State" within the meaning of Article 12 of the Constitution of India and is therefore under an obligation to consider the petitioner's representation, instead of relegating the petitioner to institute a civil suit.

4. Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the third respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 14.03.2026 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

5. There shall be no order as to costs.
