O R D E R

This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner challenging the e-auction notice dated 04.04.2025, whereby the combined parking stand for two wheelers, three wheelers and four wheelers at Thanjavur Railway Station Entry-I with an area coverage of 1956.35 Sq.Meter under the jurisdiction of the respondent, was notified for public auction.

2. It is the case of the petitioner that he was granted licence in respect of the very same premises and the same is valid upto 31.07.2027.

However, today, when the matter is taken up for consideration, Mr.K.Govindarajan, learned Deputy Solicitor General of India, appearing for the respondent submitted that the lease / licence that was granted in favour of the petitioner was cancelled through proceedings dated 02.05.2024 and the security deposit amount was also forfeited and there was no challenge to the said proceedings dated 02.05.2024 as on date. Thus, he submitted that the

petitioner has no right to question the impugned e-auction notice Further, he also submitted that the impugned e-auction is also cancelled due to some technical reasons as the proposed parking slot is not available for usage and that a copy of the said proceedings dated 02.05.2024 will be communicated to the petitioner forthwith.

4. In the light of the above, the relief sought in the present writ petition has become infructuous. In case if the lease / licence of the petitioner is already cancelled, as contended by the learned Deputy Solicitor General of India, appearing for the respondent, through proceedings dated 02.05.2024, it is open for the petitioner to take appropriate steps in accordance with law.

5. Accordingly, this writ petition is dismissed as having become infructuous. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
