the respondent No.1 to consider the representations of the petitioner Sangam/Soceity dated 10.10.2020, 10.02.2021 & 17.03.2022 and pass orders for renewing the lease of 200 Sq. Mtrs of land and further grant lease for an extent of 1812 Sq. Mtrs of land in the occupation of the petitioner comprised in T.S.No.63, Old T.S.No.5/1, Ward No.F, Block No.1 in Sivakasi Town or in the alternative assign the said lands to the petitioner Sangam/Society by determining the market value for the same within a time frame as may be fixed by this Court.

ORDER

Heard the learned counsel for the writ petitioner and the learned Special Government Pleader for the respondents. 2.The petitioner is a registered society catering to the spiritual and temporal needs of Ayyappa devotees. The petitioner put up a construction on the petition mentioned lands. The petitioner seeks long term lease therefor. It is stated that the petitioner's request has already been recommended by the District Revenue Officer, Virudhunagar District. The proposal is pending with the first respondent. Requesting the first respondent to accept the said proposal, the petitioner sent representation. The last representation was sent on 17.03.2022. The first respondent is directed to pass orders on the petitioner's representation within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. Till the final orders are passed in the petitioner's representation, the status quo that obtains as on date will continue.
