Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying to issue a Writ of Habeas Corpus, to call for the entire records, connected with the detention order passed in P.D.No.29/2016, dated 23.05.2016 on the file of the second respondent herein and quash the same and direct the respondents to produce the detenu or body of the detenu namely Govindarajan, S/o.Narayanan Nadar, aged about 29 years, now detained at Central Prison, Palayamkottai before this Court and set him at liberty forthwith.

ORDER

[Order of the Court was made by K.K.SASIDHARAN, J.] https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ This Habeas Corpus Petition is filed by the brother of the detenu - Govindarajan, who is under detention, pursuant to the

order passed by the second respondent dated 23.05.2016, in P.D.No.29/2016, under Section 2(f) of the Tamil Nadu Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Bootleggers, Cyber Law Offenders, Drugoffenders, Forest-offenders, Goondas, Immoral Traffic Offenders, Sand Offenders, Sexual Offenders, Slum-Grabbers and Video Pirates Act,1982, (Tamil Nadu Act 14 of 1982), read with the order issued by the Government in G.O.(D).No.85, Home, Prohibition and Excise (XVI) Department, dated 18.04.2016, under Sub-Section (2) of Section 3 of the said Act, branding him as "Goonda".

2. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor has produced a copy of the Government Order in G.O.Rt.No.2876, Home, Prohibition and Excise (XIV) Department, dated 30.06.2016, revoking the detention.

3. In view of the said order, nothing survives for adjudication.
