Respondents Prayer: Writ petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents herein to grant licence to the petitioner for storing and transporting of sand/M.sand in survey No.596/17, in Veeyannur village, Kalkulam Taluk, Kanyakumari District on the basis of the petitioner's representation, dated 22.07.2017 within the stipulated by this Court.

Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner wants this Court to direct the respondents to grant him licence for storing and transporting sand/M.sand in the petition mentioned survey number. The petitioner states that he had given representation on 22.07.2017.

3. The learned Government Counsel submits that the petitioner must apply in the statutory format. The petitioner has not done so. Therefore, even while closing the writ petition, I permit the petitioner to apply in Form-A of "The Tamil Nadu Prevention of Illegal Mining, Transportation and Storage of Minerals and Mineral Dealers' Rules, 2011". The petitioner should enclose the revenue records and also remit the application fee of Rs.5,000/-. On such application being filed, the respondents will dispose it of on merits and in accordance with law within a period of eight weeks.
