Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India to issue a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the 2nd respondent to provide drinking water pipes for domestic water usage to all houses in Wards 1 to 33 in Kadayanallur Municipality as per Section 129 of the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 30.12.2014.

[Order of the Court was made by S.NAGAMUTHU, J.] The petitioner has come up with this Public Interest Litigation seeking a direction to the 2nd respondent to provide drinking water facility to all houses in Ward Nos.1 to 33 in Kadayanallur Municipality, as per Section 129 of the Tamil Nadu District Municipalities Act, 1920.

2. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the first respondent, on instructions, would submit that as directed by the first respondent, the second respondent is taking steps to provide drinking water supply to all the houses following the procedure established by law. The said statement is recorded.

3. Recording the above submission of the learned Additional Government Pleader, this Writ Petition is closed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is also closed.
