Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner had given a petition for issuance of passport. Since the petitioner was implicated in a criminal case, it was not being processed. That led to the filing of this writ petition.

3. When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned counsel appearing for the second respondent submitted that the criminal case registered against the petitioner has since been closed as action dropped. Therefore, there cannot be any impediment for issuance of passport. The first respondent should process the petition mentioned application and issue passport to the petitioner subject to fulfilment of the other usual formalities.
