ORDER

The prayer in this Writ Petition is to consider the application of the petitioner dated 18.03.2015 seeking a Family Card to the petitioner.

2. Mr.N.Manoharan, learned Government Advocate takes notice for the respondents.

3. By consent, the writ petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

4. The learned counsel appearing on behalf of the petitioner submitted that it would be suffice if the application of the petitioner is disposed of, on merits and in accordance with law, within a time frame to be fixed by this Court.

5. The learned Special Government Pleader would submit that the application of the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.

6. It is seen from the typed set of papers, the petitioner has enclosed all the relevant documents for the issuance of the ration card. Inspite of it, it has not been issued by the respondent. The ration card is one of the important documents through which the subsidized rations are being supplied by the Government to a needy people. In such type of matters, there may not be much delay in considering the request of the applicant. In view of the limited scope of the prayer and it is for the issuance of a Family Card to the petitioner, the respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on the application of the petitioner dated 18.03.2015 on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7. With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
