ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by M.V.MURALIDARAN, J.) One Subbiah, has filed this Habeas Corpus Petition that his son by name Murugan, aged about 30 years was missing from 12.07.2016. It is alleged that on 12.07.2016, the detenu went to his work and thereafter he has not returned. Therefore, on 19.07.2016, a complaint has been given to the respondent. Alleging that his son has not been secured, despite complaint, the petitioner is before this Court with this Habeas Corpus Petition.
2. A status report has been filed by the respondent stating that the detenu, by giving false promise, had cheated one Malairaja by receiving a sum of Rs.10 lakhs and absconded. In this regard, the said Malairaja has also given a complaint to the Gudalur South Police Station against the detenu Murugan and a case has been registered in Crime No.153/2016 under Section 420 IPC and the investigation in the said case is under progress. It has been further stated in the report that the respondents are taking effective steps to trace the detenu, but his whereabouts are not known, and tracing of the detenu is under progress. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/
3. Recording the said submission, the respondents are directed to take steps to trace the detenu, as early as possible. With the above direction, this Habeas Corpus Petition is closed.
