[Order of the Court was made by S.M.SUBRAMANIAM, J.] The writ on hand has been instituted seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 12 to take stringent actions against the aided / unaided colleges in the State, which are collecting excess application fee or tuition fee, and the colleges, which do not have website or have website with inadequate details.

2. Learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner has given a complaint against the colleges for collection of excess fee than that of the fee fixed by the Government for admission to the various courses.

3. Collection of excess fee is illegal and the Government is bound to initiate action in the event of receiving any complaint against such colleges. Since the learned counsel for the petitioner states that a complaint has been given specifically, the official respondents are directed to look into the complaint regarding allegation of collection of excess fee and if any such charge has been proved, then all appropriate actions are to be initiated against such colleges violating the provisions of the Act, Rules and Guidelines issued

by the Government in this regard.

4. With the above observation, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed. [S.M.S., J.] [A.D.M.C., J.] 02.07.2025 NCC :
