This Writ Petition has been filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent herein to grant patta to the petitioner for his house site measuring 2850 sq.ft. comprised in old S. No. 68/1 and New S. No. 68/32 situated at Keezhpuli Village Pazhangulam Panchayat Thiruvadanai Taluk Ramanathapuram District on the basis of registered sale deed dated 17.09.1956 with nil encumbrance as per the representation of the petitioner dated 27.02.2015 within a reasonable time as may be fixed by this Honourable Court.

ORDER

The petitioner has come forward with this Writ Petition praying for a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondent herein to grant patta to the petitioner for his house site measuring 2850 sq.ft. comprised in old S. No. 68/1 and New S. No. 68/32 situated at Keezhpuli Village Pazhangulam Panchayat Thiruvadanai Taluk Ramanathapuram District on the basis of registered sale deed dated 17.09.1956 and as per the representation of the petitioner dated 27.02.2015.

2. Mrs.Bharathi, learned Govt.Advocate takes notice for the respondent.

3. By consent, this Writ Petition itself is taken up for final disposal.

4. The learned counsel appearing for the petitioner would submit that it would be suffice if the representation of the petitioner is disposed of, by the respondent, on merits and in accordance with law within the time stipulated by this Court.

5. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent would submit that the representation of the petitioner will be considered in accordance with law.

6. In view of the above, without going into the merits of the claim made by the petitioner in this Writ Petition, the respondent is directed to pass appropriate orders on the representation of the petitioner, dated 27.02.2015, on merits and in accordance with law, within a period of six weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

With the above direction, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. No costs.
