ORDER

The present writ petition has been filed to direct the respondents to grant permission and to give adequate police protection to contest a peaceful protest on 17.04.2025 in front of the Tirunelveli Railway Junction for want of employment opportunities to the youngsters in the Southern Districts by considering the representation dated 12.04.2025

According to the petitioner, he is the Secretary of Pasumpon Muthuramalinga Thevar People's Protection Movement and they want to conduct protest on 17.04.2025 for want of employment opportunities to the youngsters in the Southern Districts. In this regard, they have sent representation to the respondents on 12.04.2025 and the same has not been considered. However, the time sought for by the 2/6

petitioner was lapsed. Now, the petitioner is ready to conduct the protest on 25.04.2025. Hence, this petition seeking permission to conduct protest in a peaceful manner.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents would submit that the petitioner belongs to particular communal party and they used to create communal clash between two groups by conducting Protest/Dharna and the Tirunelveli Railway Junction is a busy area. Hence, they strongly oppose to grant permission. 4.Considering the prayer sought for by the petitioner and the petitioner wants to conduct a peaceful protest for want of employment opportunities to the youngsters in the Southern Districts and the representation of the petitioner was not considered, it is appropriate to direct the 2nd respondent to consider the representation of the petitioner in accordance with law.

5.In view of the above, this Court hereby directs the petitioner to furnish the necessary particulars as required by the 2nd respondent within a period of two days from the date of this order, thereafter, the 2nd respondent is directed to consider the representation of the petitioner, dated 12.04.2025 and grant permission to conduct protest on 25.04.2025 by imposing appropriate conditions. It is needless to mention that the petitioner shall conduct the protest in a peaceful manner and if any violation caused during the protest, he is liable for the same.

6. With the above said observations and directions, this writ petition stands disposed of.
