2. This Court had directed the authorities of the Electricity Board to issue a fresh demand notice calculating interest only for the period between 21.06.2013 and 31.05.2015. However, according to the petitioner, they have calculated excess amount and demanded a sum of Rs.17,600/- which was promptly paid by him. After paying the said amount, the present contempt proceedings have been initiated on the ground that the order of this Court has been violated.
3. The learned standing counsel appearing for the Electricity Board submits that, by mistake, the said amount has been collected and they have issued an order on 07.06.2023 to refund the balance amount of Rs.6,496/-. The said amount has also been refunded to the petitioner by way of a Demand Draft, dated 07.06.2023.
4. However, the petitioner submits that though the amount has been refunded, the computer generated bills still indicate raising of the bill for Rs.17,600/- which may cause prejudice to him in future. The contemnor undertakes to rectify the computer entries after getting appropriate orders from the head office.
5. With the said observations, this Contempt Petition stands closed.
