Respondents Prayer: Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, praying this Court Writ Petition, praying this court to issue a Writ of Mandamus by directing the 1st respondent to issue passport forthwith to the petitioners son namely A.Afham in application no.26-1054793309 by considering petitioner representation dated 28.03.2026. 1/4

ORDER

The petitioner is before this Court for a direction to the first respondent to issue passport forthwith to the petitioner's son, namely, A.Afham, pursuant to the representation dated 28.03.2026.

2. The application for issuance of passport has not been processed citing that the criminal case is pending against the petitioner's son before the Juvenile Justice Board, Thoothukudi in J.C.No.149 of 2025. The petitioner along with his son intends to travel abroad in the month of May, 2026 and hence, he is before this Court for a direction. Therefore, the petitioner seeks indulgence of this Court to direct the Juvenile Justice Board to dispose of the application for permission to obtain passport on behalf of his son to be filed by the petitioner.

3. In light of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the Juvenile Justice Board, Thoothukudi, to dispose of the application to be 2/4

submitted by the petitioner for granting permission to issue passport in favour of the petitioner's son within a period of two(2) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of the application to be submitted by the petitioner.
