: Respondents PRAYER: Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus thereby directing the respondents to given police protection for conducting the Aadi month Mulaipari festival to the Goddess Muthumariyamman which is scheduled to be held on 31.07.2018 at Sathanoor Village, R.S.Mangalam Union, Tiruvadanai Taluk, Ramanathapuram District by considering the representation of the petitioner dated 26.07.2018. O R D E R

The petitioner intends to conduct Aadi month Mulaipari festival for Goddess Muthumariyamman at Sathanoor Village, R.S.Mangalam Union, Tiruvadanai Taluk, Ramanathapuram District, on 31.07.2018. In this regard, he has given a representation to the second respondent as early as on 26.07.2018. Since, no orders have been passed, the petitioner has approached this Court. 2.Since it is a religious function in which women and children will be going in the procession, this Court is of the view that the second respondent can very well grant the permission.

permission for holding the function in question. It is open to the second respondent to incorporate appropriate conditions, taking into account the local situation, in order to maintain law and order.

4.The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioner on instructions from the petitioner undertakes to abide by any condition that may be imposed by the second respondent. 5.With the above direction, the Writ Petition stands allowed. No costs.
