ORDER
The petitioner seeks for the following relief:- "Writ of Mandamus, directing the 4th respondent to consider the petition dated 11.03.2025 and to register the Settlement deed executed by the petitioner in favour of the petitioner's wife namely Sornam by considering the certified copy of the sale deed documents No.1548/1983, 1547/1983, 508/1990 and 638/1989 and a will deed document No. 23/1995 which is in favour of the petitioner and his brother namely Dharmalingam pertaining to S.Nos.292, 292/3, 271/3A2, 269/1A1D, 270/1A2, 270/1 within the time frame fixed by the Court."

2.The grievance of the petitioner is that the settlement deed executed by him in favour of his wife, Sornam, is not being registered on account of the petitioner not producing the original documents. 3.In P.Pappu Vs., The Sub-Registrar, Rasipuram, 2024 (5) CTC 575 and in K.Gopi v. Sub-Registrar & Others, 2025 SCC Online SC 740, the Division Bench of this Court and the Supreme Court have held that it is not necessary to produce the original documents at the time of registration. Furthermore, in this case, the petitioner has undertaken to produce the certified copy of the previous documents.
4.Hence, there shall be a direction to the fourth respondent to register the settlement deed presented by the petitioner in favour of his wife, Sornam, if it is otherwise in compliance of the Registration Act, 1908, without insisting upon the original document, within a period of two weeks from the date of uploading of a copy of this order. 5.The Writ Petition is ordered, accordingly.
