PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the 1st respondent herein to consider and pass orders on petitioner's final representation dated 27.01.2026 seeking to treat the periods from 16.09.2017 to 13.12.2017 (89 days), 14.12.2017 to 04.03.2018 (81 days), 09.11.2018 to 13.11.2018 (5 days), 14.11.2018 to 20.12.2018 (37 days), 21.12.2018 to 31.12.2018 (11 days), June 2019 to June 2020 (33 days) and from 04.07.2020 to 27.12.2020 - 177 days as duty period/eligible leave and to disburse the salary for the above periods within a reasonable time stipulated by this Court. This writ petition has been filed seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the first respondent to consider and pass orders on the petitioner's final representation dated 27.01.2026, wherein the petitioner has sought to treat the periods from 16.09.2017 to 13.12.2017 (89 days), 14.12.2017 to 04.03.2018 (81 days), 09.11.2018 to 13.11.2018 (5 days), 14.11.2018 to 20.12.2018 (37 days),
21.12.2018 to 31.12.2018 (11 days), June 2019 to June 2020 (33 days), and from 04.07.2020 to 27.12.2020 (177 days) as duty period/eligible leave, and to disburse salary for the said periods within a time frame to be fixed by this Court. 2.Heard Mr.E.V.N.Siva, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr.N.Satheesh Kumar, learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents.

The petitioner states that, while he was working as an Office Assistant (Special Grade) he suffered from various health ailments, due to which he was constrained to remain absent from duty on several occasions and finally he retired from service on 30.04.2022. Though his terminal benefits have been settled, the periods during which he was absent have not been regularised. According to the petitioner, he is entitled to have those periods regularised as eligible leave. Hence, he submitted a representation dated 27.01.2026 seeking regularisation of the said periods. Since no action has been taken, the present writ petition has been filed.
4. The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the representation of the petitioner would be considered and appropriate orders would be passed expeditiously.
5. In light of the above, without going into the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the first respondent to consider the representation dated 27.01.2026 submitted by the petitioner and pass appropriate orders, on merits and in accordance with law, as expeditiously as possible and, in any event, within a period of eight weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. 10.04.2026 Index :
