Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2.The petitioner is a dealer registered with the respondent. The petitioner's assessment in respect of the year 2009-10 was concluded on 30.06.2012. To revise the same, the respondent issued notice under Section 27 of the TNVAT Act on 15.11.2018. The case on hand pertains to pre amendment period. Even following the amendment, the limitation set out in the Act is six years. The notice in the case has been issued beyond a period of six years. It is patently hit by limitation. W.P.(MD)No.13069 of 2019 petition is quashed. The Writ Petition is allowed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
