PRAYER : Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to transfer the petitioner to the existing post at Rajapalayam/Town/East, Virudhunagar District or Veerasigamani Section, Tirunelveli District by considering her representation dated 16.03.2026 with reference to the 2nd respondent proceedings in Memo.No. 1000011961 / 006077/ G.49/G.492/ 2025-15, dated 05.03.2026.

The petitioner has approached this Court seeking issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to transfer her to an existing post at Rajapalayam/Town/East, Virudhunagar District, or to the Veerasigamani Section, Tirunelveli District, by considering her representation dated 16.03.2026, with reference to the proceedings of the second respondent in Memo.No. 1000011961 / 006077/ G.49/G.492/ 2025-15, dated 05.03.2026.

2.The petitioner was serving as an Assessor in the respondent Board/Corporation at Tirunelveli. She was promoted to the post of Inspector of Assessment and, by proceedings dated 05.03.2026, was posted to Coimbatore District.

3. Considering that Coimbatore District is located at a distance of more than 300 kilometres from her previous place of posting, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 16.03.2026 requesting for posting her at Virudhunagar District in an existing vacancy at Rajapalayam/Town/East or at the Veerasigamani Section in Tirunelveli District. As no response was received to the said representation, the petitioner has approached this Court by filing the present writ petition.

4.Mr.B.Ramanathan, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents, submitted that if any such request for reposting is pending, the same will be duly considered by the respondents.

5. In the light of the above, without going into the merits of the matter, this writ petition is disposed of with a direction to the second respondent to consider the petitioner's representation dated 16.03.2026 and pass appropriate orders thereon as expeditiously as possible, at any rate, within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

6. With the above directions, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. 10.04.2026 Index :
