The writ petitioner filed this Writ Petition seeking for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents herein to grant permission and protection to conduct the temple festival of Arulmighu Sri Mariamman, situated at Senappadi, Vangal Post, Manmangalam Taluk, Karur District, from 07.05.2023 to 10.05.2023 by considering the petitioner's representation dated 22.04.2023.
2. Mr. B.Nambiselvan, learned Additional Public Prosecutor takes notice for the respondents 1 to 3. By consent, this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.
3. The learned Additional Public Prosecutor would submit that there is rival groups in the village. The above said issue was referred to RDO, Karur, and Section 107 Cr.P.C. Proceedings were initiated.
4. Now whatever it may be, it is the temple festival. When the Peace Committee Meeting was arranged by the RDO, Karur, repeated objection was made by the above said private parties. 2/5
5. In view of the submission made by the learned Additional Public Prosecutor, the Peace Committee Meeting shall be arranged by the RDO, Karur on or before 05.05.2023. In the above said meeting, the petitioner and as well as the rival groups must participate. Depending upon the outcome of the resolution to be adopted in the above said the meeting, further action may be taken either by the petitioner or by the competent authority.
6. With the above direction, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
