ORDER
The Writ Petition is filed seeking a direction to the respondents herein to regularise the services of the petitioners form the date of their initial appointment i.e. 16.12.1998 and 12.02.2000 and to fix the time scale of pay of the petitioners, on the basis of the representation given by the petitioners dated 14.06.2018.
2. Heard the learned Counsel appearing for the petitioners and the learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents and perused the materials available on record.
3. The case of the petitioners is that they are belonging to Schedule Caste Community and were appointed as sweepers at various police stations under the respondents during 1998-2000. Even though the similarly placed persons' services were regularised and time scale was fixed, the petitioners' services were not regularised and there is no time scale of pay fixed to the petitioners.
Hence, they made representation to the respondents on 14.06.2018. Since no action is forthcoming, the petitioners are before this Court by filing this Writ Petition.
4. The learned Counsel appearing for the petitioners submitted that since the similarly placed persons' services are regularised by the respondents, he seeks appropriate direction to the respondents.
5. The learned Special Government Pleader appearing for the respondents submitted that the representation of the petitioners be considered by the respondents within a time frame as fixed by this Court.
6. In such view of the matter, without going into the merits of the petitioners' case, the respondents are directed to consider the representation of the petitioners, dated 14.06.2018 seeking regularisation of their services and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the petitioners, if there are no other legal impediments, within a period of eights weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
7. The Writ Petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
