PRAYER: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, to call for the records pertaining to the impugned order in G.O.(Ms).No.72, Higher Education (H1) Department dated 23.03.2022 on the file of the first respondent and quash the same as illegal and consequently to direct the respondents to send the illegally appointed surplus teaching staff of Annamalai University to the same University within the time stipulated by this Court.

This Writ Petition has been filed challenging the impugned Government Order dated 23.03.2022, issued by the first respondent. According to the petitioner, as per the impugned Government Order, surplus teaching staff has been appointed for Annamalai University. Hence, the same is illegal.

2.However, as seen from the impugned Government Order, the period of employment for the staff is only three years. The period of three years has already come to an end by the lapse of time from the date of the impugned Government Order. Since the period has come to an end, nothing survives for further adjudication in this Writ Petition.

3.Accordingly, this Writ Petition is closed. However, liberty is granted to the petitioner to file a fresh Writ Petition, in case the respondents pass a similar impugned Government Order in the near future. There shall be no order as to costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petitions are closed.
