This Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the learned Judicial Magistrate No.1, Pudukkottai to expedite the trial in C.C.No.122 of 2022.

2.The learned Counsel for the petitioner would submit that the petitioner is the sole accused in this case and the FIR has been registered on 03.05.2022 and after completion of investigation, charge sheet has been filed and the same has been taken cognizance in C.C.No.122 of 2022, by the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Pudukottai. Now, the case is pending for trial. The petitioner was working in Singapore and therefore, he was unable to appear before the trial Court, thereby, the trial Court issued non bailable warrant and the same is pending. The petitioner also filed a separate application seeking cancellation of non bailable warrant. However, since the case is pending from the year 2022 filed this petition for speedy disposal.

3.The learned Government Advocate (Crl.Side) appearing for the respondent police would submit that the case is pending from the year 2/5

2022. The petitioner is the accused in this case. Only because of the petitioner's non appearance, it is pending from the year 2022. They will co-operate for speedy disposal by producing the witnesses without any delay as directed by the trial Court.

4.Considering the prayer sought for in this petition and the case is pending from the year 2022, this Court directs the trial Court to expedite the trial in C.C.No.122 of 2022 and dispose of the same as early as possible, without granting long adjournment beyond one week. 5.With the above direction, this criminal original petition is disposed of.
