ORDER
The petitioner herein is working as a Senior Driver under the second respondent. He has come forward with a Writ Petition seeking promotion to the post of Driving Instructor based on G.O.Ms.No.38, Transport Department dated 13.02.1997.
2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that as per G.O.Ms. No.38 dated 13.02.1997, the drivers are to be treated on par with the Conductors, while considering promotions. According to him, the petitioner is a graduate and he is eligible for promotion for the post of Driving Instructor and hence, he had also sent a representation to the respondents on 04.05.2019 and the same is pending consideration.
3. The learned counsel for the respondent/Transport Corporation submits that the respondents would consider the representation of the petitioner and pass orders within a period of four weeks.
4. In view of the aforesaid submission and considering the limited scope of the Writ Petition, without expressing any opinion on the merits of the claim
made in the Writ Petition, this Court directs the respondents to consider the petitioner's representation dated 04.05.2019 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance with law within a period of four (4) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
5. Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
