Heard the learned counsel on either side.

2. The petitioner's husband Muthuveeran was working as Office Assistant in the audit section of the District Collector. He was implicated in a criminal case. Crime No.4 of 2018 was registered on the file of City Crime Branch Unit II, Madurai. He was suspended from service. While so, the petitioner's husband passed away on 27.06.2022. Since the delinquent /accused passed away, the proceedings necessarily abate. The petitioner has applied to the respondent for disbursement of the terminal benefits.

When the matter was taken up for hearing, the learned Additional Government Pleader submitted that the Collector has issued appropriate order for treating disciplinary action initiated against the petitioner as abated. I do not find any impediment for disbursing terminal benefits to the petitioner. The respondent shall disburse them to the petitioner as expeditiously as possible.
