ORDER
The order impugned in the present Writ Petition enumerates that the writ petitioner was appointed on contract basis. The petitioner in his affidavit has also stated that he was appointed as contract staff. Based on the agreement, the period of contract was 11 months and the same was expired on 09.01.2019. Thus, on expiry of the period of contract, an order of termination was issued in proceedings dated 09.01.2019, which is under challenge in the present Writ Petition.

W.P.(MD)No.13927 of 2019 2.Appointments made on contract basis cannot be a ground to seek further extension or regularization. Regular appointments are to be made strictly following the rules in force. Merely on the basis of contract appointment, a person cannot claim continuation of service or confirmation of service.
3.In the present case, the petitioner was engaged on contract basis for the period of 11 months and on expiry of the period of 11 months, the impugned order of termination has been made. Thus, the petitioner has not made out any acceptable grounds for the purpose of considering the relief as such sought for in the present Writ Petition.
4.Accordingly, this Writ Petition stands dismissed. No costs. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
