ORDER

(Order of the Court was made by N.SATHISH KUMAR, J.) The petitioner has filed the present Writ Petition seeking a direction to the respondents 1 to 5 to take appropriate action against the respondents 6 to 8, who are alleged to have been involved in illegal mining and transportation of minerals from their patta lands bearing Survey Nos.41/2 (Patta No.213), 41/1 (Patta No.195), 50/1B2B1 (Patta No.1584), 42/3C (Patta No.1258), 89/3D (Patta No.1671), and 50/1B (Patta No.1660), situated at Mettupatti Village, Vadipatti Taluk, Madurai District, and also against the officials who allegedly aided them, by considering the petitioner's representation dated 07.03.2026. 2.By consent of both parties, the Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself. 3.Mr.D.Sasi Kumar, learned Additional Government Pleader, accepts notice for the respondents 1 to 5. Considering the limited relief sought by the petitioner, notice to the respondents 6 to 8 is dispensed with. 3/7

4.It is the contention of the petitioner that the respondents 6 to 8 are engaged in illegal mining activities without obtaining any permission, excavating the aforesaid lands to a depth exceeding 10 feet, and transporting the excavated materials to outside locations using vehicles. In this regard, the petitioner submitted a representation dated 07.03.2026 to the authorities concerned. Since the same has not been considered so far, the present Writ Petition has been filed.

5.The learned Additional Government Pleader appearing for respondents 1 to 5, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner's representation dated 07.03.2026 would be considered and that the authorities concerned would conduct an inspection of the land in question in the presence of all parties concerned. He further submitted that appropriate action would be taken if any violation in excavation in the patta land is found.

6.In view of the above, the fifth respondent is directed to 4/7

conduct an inspection of the place in question, after issuing notice to the petitioner, the respondents 6 to 8, and all other parties concerned, if any, within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. If any violation is found, the fifth respondent shall take necessary action, after affording sufficient opportunity of personal hearing to all parties concerned and by following due process of law, within a period of three months thereafter.
