O R D E R

*********** [Order of the Court was made by P.N.PRAKASH, J.] Alleging that the license to quarry sand in Thanjavur District has been awarded to the fifth respondent, the present Public Interest Litigation has been filed to cancel the allotment on the ground that sand quarrying would result in disturbance to the ecology.

2.Even according to the petitioner, in paragraph No.5 of the affidavit, he has stated that sand quarrying permission has been given by the District Collector, Thanjavur on 07.04.2022 to the Public Works Department to quarry sand in S.F.No.1 (Part) to an extent of 4.90.00 hectares in Maruvur Village, Thiruvaiyaru Taluk, Thanjavur District. While that being so, without any basis, the present Public Interest Litigation has been filed. 3.Accordingly, this Writ Petition is dismissed. There shall be no order as to costs.
