Respondents Prayer:- Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India praying for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents to appoint the petitioner as Noon Meal Organizer for the post in anyone of the Vacancies in the place of Sungurampatti Village, Thirumangalam Taluk, Madurai District on the basis of the petitioner's representation dated 19.06.2019. The relief sought for in the present writ petition is to direct the respondents to appoint the petitioner in the post of Noon Meal Organiser.

2. Admittedly, the petitioner participated in the process of selection for appointment to the post of Noon Meal Organiser. However, she was not selected. The case of the writ petitioner was rejected on the ground of over age.

3. The learned Additional Government Pleader brought to the notice of this Court that during the interview, the authorities found that the petitioner was over-aged and therefore, she was not considered for appointment.

4. This being the factum, the relief as such sought for to appoint the petitioner cannot be granted. Appointment can never be claimed as a matter of right. The process of selection can be challenged only on limited grounds, if such process is tainted with mala fides or based on certain corrupt practices. In the present case, the petitioner was found over-aged and therefore, she is not entitled for the relief.
