ORDER
(Order of the Court was made by R.N.MANJULA, J) Heard Mr.K.Sivabalan, learned counsel for the petitioner, Mr.D.Gandhiraj, learned Special Government Pleader for R1 to R3, R5 and R6 and Mr.RMS.Sethuraman, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, for the respondents 4, 7 and 8.
2.This writ petition has been filed for a direction to the respondents 3 to 8 to permit and provide adequate police protection to conduct Jallikkattu Program on 29.05.2024 at Konnaiyampatti Village, Idaiyathur Post, Ponnamaravathi Taluk, Pudukkottai District by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 15.05.2024.
3. By consent of both parties, this Writ Petition is taken up for final disposal at the stage of admission itself.
4. The petitioner herein had given a representation to the respondents on 15.05.2024 to provide police protection to conduct 3/6
Jallikattu Program in the petitioner's village. Since the said representation was not considered by the respondents so far, the present writ petition has been filed.
5. When the writ petition was taken up for hearing today, the learned Special Government Pleader, by producing the proceedings of the Revenue Divisional Officer, ie., 5th respondent herein, dated 21.05.2024, which was addressed to the District Collector, has submitted that on considering the representation made by the petitioner, permission had been accorded to the petitioner's village for conduct of Jallikattu on 29.05.2024 with certain conditions. The said submission is recorded.
6. In view of the above, this writ petition is disposed of. No costs. (R.N.M, J.) (C.K.,J.) 22.05.2024 NCC :
