This Writ Petition is filed for Mandamus directing the respondents No.1 and 2 to issue permission and police protection for conducting Festival to Sri Sivasudalai Madaswami Temple, Keeraikaranthattu, Tisaiyanvilai to be held from 23.05.2024 to 25.05.2024 by considering the petitioner's representation, dated 22.04.2024.

The learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents 1 and 2 submitted that there are two groups and there are clashes among the groups and each group is claiming to conduct the festival and hence, the respondents 1 and 2 submitted that it is difficult to allow the parties to conduct the festival.

Since there are 2 groups seeking permission to conduct the festival on the same day, the respondents 1 and 2 are directed to call both the parties and conduct Peace Committee meeting and direct one group to conduct the festival on one day and. another group on another day. If needed, a lot may be drawn to assign who can conduct the festival first.

4. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of. No costs.
