ORDER

This writ petition has been filed seeking a direction to the respondents to strictly enforce the fishing ban and prevent illegal fishing using Motorised Boats/Vessels during the fishing ban period from 15.04.2025 to 14.06.2025 in the Gulf of Mannar area.

2. When the matter is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondents produced a memorandum dated 22.01.2025 in RC No. 40337/J6/2014 issued by the Commissioner, Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare Department, Chennai.

3. On perusal of the memorandum dated 22.01.2025 in RC No. 40337/J6/2014 issued by the Commissioner, Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare Department, Chennai, it is seen that the Marine Enforcement Wing is instructed to plan the Joint Patrolling with the Coastal Security Group, Forest Department and Indian Coast Guard during the Turtle breeding season, marine fisheries conservation activities, coastal security 2/4

and rescue operations. Therefore, the matter involved in this writ petition has already been seized by the Commissioner, Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare Department, Chennai and hence, no direction can be issued in this writ petition at this stage.
