Respondents PRAYER: Writ petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a Writ of Mandamus, to direct the respondents to provide the petitioner copies of the vehicle records of the offending vehicle as mandated under Rule 150(2) of the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 and direct the first respondent to forward the petitioner application under Chief Minister's Accident Relief Fund to appropriate authorities.

ORDER

The writ petition is filed seeking Mandamus directing the respondents Police to provide copies of the vehicle records involved in a motor accident, occurred on 01.06.2018, to make accident claim. 2.The petitioner, who is one of the victim in the accident, sought for vehicle records from the Police as contemplated under Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989. However, the first respondent has declined to furnish copies and informed the petitioner that they can get the copies, after filing of final report in Cr.No.204 of 2018.

3.The learned Additional Public Prosecutor appearing for the respondents submits that the copies of the offending vehicle's record has been furnished to the petitioner. The final report has also been filed against one Vishnu and the same was taken on file by the learned Judicial Magistrate No.I, Padmanabhapuram in C.C.No.111 of 2019.
