ORDER
This Criminal Original Petition is filed to quash the final report filed in C.C.No.180 of 2024 for the offences under Section 448, 427, 294(b), 323, 324, 506(2) of IPC and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002.
2. The allegation in the final report is that on account of prior enmity, the petitioners had trespassed into the house of the second respondent, attacked her with wooden logs, abused her in filthy language and caused damage to the house of the second respondent.
3. The learned counsel for the petitioners would submit that the petitioners are closely related to the second respondent and in order to maintain peace within the family, the compromise had been arrived at.
4. The parties, namely, the petitioners and the second respondent have since entered into a compromise and filed a joint compromise memo stating that 2/7
on the intervention of elders, they have resolved their misunderstanding. The scanned copy of the compromise memo reads as follows: 3/7

5. The petitioners and the second respondent/defacto complainant are present before this Court in person. They are identified by M/s.S.Rani, Woman Head Constable, Sakkottai Police Station, Sivagangai District. All the parties confirmed the compromise arrived at between them.

In view of the same and considering the nature of the offences and the relationship between the parties, this Court is of the view that no useful purpose would be served by keeping the impugned final report pending trial. Accordingly, the impugned final report in C.C.No.180 of 2024 on the file of the learned Judicial Magistrate, Karaikudi is quashed and the Criminal Original Petition stands allowed. Consequently, connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
