O R D E R

The Criminal Original Petition has been filed seeking a direction to direct the respondent police to provide adequate police protection for the life and limb of the petitioner based on the representation dated 21.08.2020.

2.Today, when the petition is taken up for hearing, the learned Government Advocate (Crl. Side) appearing for the respondents 1 to 4, on instructions, would submit that in earlier, immediately upon receipt of the representation dated 21.08.2020, the fifth respondent herein initiated an enquiry in C.No.G3/119/17193/2020 and after initiation of enquiry, despite of several summonses issued to the petitioner, the petitioner herein has not appeared before the Investigation Officer for the purpose of completing enquiry. Therefore, the said enquiry has been closed and as of now, no petition is pending on the file of the fifth respondent. The said submission is recorded.

3.In response to the said submission, the learned counsel for the petitioner would submit that it is not correct to say that the petitioner was summoned for attending enquiry. 4.Upon considering the rival submissions made by the learned counsels appearing on either side, it would appropriate to direct the petitioner to lodge a fresh complaint before the third respondent and if such complaint is received from the petitioner, the third respondent is directed to initiate an enquiry and dispose of the same in accordance with law within a period of one month from the date of receipt of the said representation. 5.With the above direction, this Criminal Original Petition is disposed of.
