O R D E R

This Writ Petition has been filed seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to settle the voluntarily retirement compensation amount of Rs.39,583/- payable to the petitioner for the remaining period of 38 months of service together with 6% interest from the date of his retirement i.e., on 30.04.2023 to till the date of payment.

The learned Counsel for the petitioner submits that the present writ petition has been filed by a retired Senior Assistant Engineer who worked in the respondent Transport Corporation seeking a Writ of Mandamus, directing the respondents to settle the voluntary retirement compensation amount along with interest. The petitioner was permitted to go on voluntary retirement with effect from 30.04.2023 after voluntary retirement, he is eligible to get voluntary retirement compensation amount of Rs.39,583/- for the remaining period of service. But it is not settled, the petitioner submitted a representation on 25.03.2025, seeking voluntary retirement service compensation. Since there is no response from the respondent, the present writ petition has been filed. The action of the respondents in withholding the voluntary retirement compensation after permitting the petitioner to retire 2/4

from service voluntarily with effect from 30.04.2023 to till date is unreasonable and unjustifiable.

3. In view of the above facts and circumstances, this Court is intends to allow this writ petition with a direction to the respondents to disburse the eligible voluntary retirement service compensation to the petitioner along with 6% interest from the due date to till the date of actual payment.

4. Accordingly, this writ petition is allowed, with directions to the respondents to disburse the eligible voluntary retirement service compensation to the petitioner along with 6% interest from the due date to till the date of actual payment, within a period of four weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

No costs.
