ORDER

This writ petition has been filed by the petitioner for issuance of Writ of Mandamus directing the 2nd respondent to pass appropriate orders on the petitioner's appeal made in Na.Ka.Bi6/50242/2019 on the file of the 2nd respondent within a specified time fixed by this Court.

2.Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner Mr.M.Kaliraj and Mr.C.Ramesh, learned Special Government Pleader, who takes notice for the respondents. By consent of both parties, to day this writ petition is taken up for final disposal at the admission stage itself.

3.The case of the petitioner is that the petitioner has filed an appeal before the Commissioner of Land Administration. The Commissioner of Land Administration has forwarded the appeal made by the petitioner to the second respondent and the same was intimated to the petitioner. The second respondent / District Revenue Officer has taken the appeal on file in Na.Ka.Bi6/50242/2019 dated 31.07.2019. Thereafter, the second respondent sent a notice to the petitioner to appear for enquiry on 27.03.2020. But due to COVID - 19 pandemic situation, nationwide lock down was announced. https://hcservices.ecourts.gov.in/hcservices/ 1/2

W.P(MD).No.12069 of 2020 Thereafter, no further progress in this case. Hence, the present writ petition has been filed.

4.The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondentssubmitted that the appeal will be considered on merits after providing opportunity to the parties concerned within the time fixed by this Court.

5.Considering the limited scope of the prayer sought for in this writ petition, without going into the merits of the case, this Court is inclined to issue a direction to the second respondent. 6.Accordingly, the second respondent is directed to dispose of the appeal filed by the petitioner in Na.Ka.Bi6/50242/2019 dated 31.07.2019 on merits and in accordance with law, after affording opportunity to the petitioner as well as the persons who are necessary to this case, as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.

7.This writ petition stands disposed of with the above direction. No costs.
